That Camping Life

There's no need to get a hotel or worry about driving when it comes to WE Fest, because the real action happens in the campgrounds! And being able to walk to the concerts each day is sooo worth it.

Camping FAQs

About Camping:

Q: What happens if someone else is dropping off / setting up our campsite?
A:

If someone other than the ticket holder is setting up a campsite, we will require that the 3rd party bring the ticket holder’s campsite ticket to check-in where it will be scanned and exchanged for a stickered credential that will be applied to the (1) sleeping unit that is being dropped off, and another sticker for the (1) steering unit that will need to be retrieved from the 3rd party by the ticket holder. We will not hold credentials at camp check-in. The 3rd party tow vehicles will be marked and have 30 minutes to set up and exit the campground. Any vehicles or sleeping units without proper credentials will be towed.

Q: When can I arrive for Early Arrival camping?
A:

If you purchased VIP Early Arrival along with your VIP campsite, you can arrive to start setting up on Saturday, July 31st, Sunday, August 1st, or Tuesday, August 3rd (note: campgrounds are closed on Monday). No overnight camping will be allowed until Tuesday, August 3rd.

If you purchased GA Early Arrival, you can gain access to the campgrounds starting on Tuesday, August 3rd.

Campers may begin to stage their vehicles on the road starting Monday, August 2nd at 12:00 PM for access into the campgrounds on Tuesday. Any vehicle arriving prior to that time will not be permitted to park on the shoulder, will be subject to removal, and enforcement action taken by the MN State Patrol. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Vehicles staged on the road after 12:00 PM on Monday, August 2nd, must be staged on the shoulder of the road and do so at their own risk. Guests must stay within their vehicles and are not permitted to set up camps, chairs, grills, etc. outside of their vehicles. The MN State Patrol and WE Fest Security will be patrolling these areas.

Q: How do I get extra vehicle passes for my campsite?
A:
The Overflow Camp Parking Pass is available here for extra vehicles brought to the event that you do not need near your campsite. This pass allows for parking your extra vehicle(s) in the parking area of the Viking Campground near the tollbooth. Once parked, these vehicles can not come and go. No camping is allowed in this lot and it will be patrolled by security. WE Fest offers “on call” shuttle service for those camped in Lake Sallie, Northwoods and Oatfield.
Q: Do I need a vehicle pass for a campsite?
A:

Your Campsite Pass is a vehicle pass that allows for one (1) driving unit (Car/Truck) and one (1) sleeping unit (trailer) PER CAMPSITE.  Motor Homes are considered both a driving and sleeping unit. Any additional vehicles must purchase a separate campsite.

Q: Can I save a camping spot for my friends?
A:

The only way to guarantee a camping spot next to friends is to arrive and enter your campground together. We do not allow people to rope off camping spaces or save spots. All campgrounds are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You can purchase an Early Entry campground pass to enter the campgrounds early and claim your camping spot.

Q: Can I leave the campgrounds after we've loaded in?
A:

Once you are in we encourage you to stay in. We provide a free shuttle bus service for our campers into town on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, times TBA. It loads just outside the West Gate in the North portion of the Shuttle bus area. The bus pick-ups up and drops off at the Fairgrounds and also downtown where you can access the beach, restaurants, clothing, banks, groceries, adult beverages and the hospital all within walking distance.

Q: Can I bring a gas-powered generator?
A:

Yes. Please let the campground staff know that you plan to use a generator as you enter a campground.  All generators must be turned off for quiet hours beginning at 2:00 AM.

Q: Can I bring firewood?
A:

No, we do not allow any firewood to be brought from off-site. We will have firewood available for purchase at the campground entrances. Please bring fire rings, they will not be provided.

Q: How big are the campsites?
A:

All campsites are approximately 25′ x 40′. Your entire camp setup must fit within the campsite. If your camper or RV is larger than 40 feet, you must purchase two campsites.

Q: How far is each campground from the festival entrance?
A:

The farthest campground away from the concert entrance is approximately a 15-minute walk. Most other campgrounds are a 5 to 10-minute walk to the entrances.  Please see the camping map for details.

Q: How many amps are the electrical hookups?
A:

All electrical sites are 30 amps.  Please remember to bring at least a 50-foot-long extension cord.

Q: How many cars/vehicles can I have at my campsite?
A:

Each campsite is allowed one vehicle (including a motorcycle) and one sleeping unit. A drivable RV is considered both.

Q: How many tents can I have in my campsite?
A:

You can have one vehicle and one sleeping unit per campsite. Your entire camp setup must fit in your allotted campsite, of 25′ × 40′.

Q: What's the largest RV I can bring?
A:

All standard sites are 25’ x40’, so if you have an RV that exceeds this size you must purchase two camp sites. No campers over 30 feet long will be allowed in Northwoods due to the trees and hills.

Q: Do you have handicap-accessible camping?
A:

There will be a designated parking/camping area for people with special accessibility needs. We offer accessible campsites, including electrical sites, in Lake Sallie and Northwoods. You must have an official handicapped parking placard or plate for your vehicle if you need to use this area. There will also be accessible restroom facilities. There are no stairs or other barriers to entering the concert grounds, so they will be entirely accessible. There will be a wheelchair accessible space inside the concert area where handicapped are allowed to enter one-half hour earlier than general admission.

Q: What can I bring into the campgrounds?
A:

Click here to see the full list of items that are allowed and prohibited in the campgrounds.

Q: How do I get my RV pumped?
A:

RV pump outs will be available in the campground for a fee. Please speak with a tollbooth attendant upon arrival for instructions and contact information.

Q: How do I get my RV's water filled during the festival?
A:

There will be water trucks available in the campground for a fee. Please speak with a tollbooth attendant upon arrival for instructions and contact information.
